45) Notes by the Composer on his ‘VIVALDI IN NABRASKA’
12 SYMPHONIES CONCERTANTES for Various Sized
Orchestras op.60: It was Stravinsky’s remark that Vivaldi kept writing the same piece virtually over and over again, which induced me to think of this title for my 12 Symphonies Concertantes and I am in relative agreement. I thought, could this be due to his constantly being surrounded by young girls and women in the academy where he taught? So I chose for my mythical solitude the state of Nebraska, which I have never visited, to create these works. It was almost uninhabited at the time of Vivaldi and bought by Napoleon.

The music incorporates classical - European, Jazz and ‘Rock’ elements M.G.
